What is Chaffhaye.

  • Premium Alfalfa.

The Alfalfa goes through a cold fermentation process. Think of it as being pre-digested to increase digestion and nutrient absorption. It’s often referred to as Pasture-in-a-Bag as it’s equivalent to 1 ½ bales of dry hay. But, it has nearly two times the nutritional value of dry baled hay. Yeast Cultures maximize nutrition. As good bacteria grow, they breakdown fiber. It is important for healthy animals to have proper fiber digestion to grow and perform!

  • Enzymes & Live Microorganisms.

Chaffhaye has yeast, beneficial enzymes, and live microorganisms to aid in the overall well-being and health of your animal. It’s an excellent source of fiber, protein and essential nutrients for a variety of animals. It is easily digested and can help establish a healthy microflora. The most important of these health-promoting organisms is lactic-acid producing bacteria (LAB) and yeast.

  • Better than dry hay.

You’ll find that especially horses will eat 100% of Chaffhaye, including stem matter resulting in less waste and clean-up. It also comes in air-tight compressed bags so takes up much less space than traditional bales. It can be stored outside and remain safe from the elements since it’s plastic wrapped. We have also been told that it’s convenient and cleaner to travel with.

It’s also free of dust, seeds, and Blister Beetles.

  • Health benefits.

Horses - allows the horse to absorb more nutrients in the foregut with less spilling over to the hindgut

Goats - provides more energy, vitamins, and minerals than dried hay and has shown to increase milk production, can be used as primary feed for dairy goats

Cattle - cattle will achieve one of the highest possible biological responses

Sheep - safe protein content without the burnout of traditional alfalfa, reduces “hay belly” look, increases muscle and tone with protein
